Not gonna lie: I love staying at home. Any opportunity I get to sit at home and relax, I try to relish. Get me some Netflix, snacks, and my couch and that makes for an awesome day or night in my book.
For the most part this past Saturday I did that. And with Zell still in Utah, it’s especially easy to not be as productive. Sunday I was better, catching up on blogging, cleaning the house, laundry. So by the time the evening arrived I was mentally preparing to turn in.
But I made plans. I purposely reached out to a girlfriend, Octavia, a few weeks prior to see if she wanted to join me at this event: BLUSH: a ladies only social event. It promised PAINT. TRAP. SIP. All of which sounded like a good night.
And it was! I’m so glad I got my butt out the house and socialized. Yes I had to do my hair, put some actual make up on, iron some clothes. You know, effort, lol. But Octavia and I got to catch up over great music, tons of Kanye West playing to fit the mood and subject of the painting, the infamous Kanye West bear (sings ::I miss the old Kayne!::).
It just made me realize I need to do this more often. Be present, enjoy the moment. I mean, Netflix will always be there, right?
