Art and make-up go together like peanut butter and jelly: they compliment each other but can stand on their own. Hell, I’d argue to say make-up is an art but that’s for another blog and another time.
Last week I was able to witness the collaboration of two of best in both fields, NARS cosmetics collection inspired by artist Man Ray. About the latter: Man Ray is renowned for his photography, in particular his “rayographs”. Each year, NARS features and artist that they have been inspired by and this year is particularly special as their founder, Francois Nars, has been inspired by Ray since the age of 12.
Now NARS is already pretty amazing (Orgasm blush anyone?) and when I was invited to check out this new collection along with awesome tips from senior artist Julia Sohn at the NARS store inside the Caesar Palace Forum shops, I made sure to show up!
Julia shared the Man Ray collection by demoing it on blogger Christie Moller, highlighting the The Veil Cheek Palette. In particular she shared that many times we do not allow time for our blush to settle, which can lead it to look pretty weak later. As a blush girl myself, I definitely took note of this.
After the demo, I had the opportunity to try on more from including the Wanted Eyeshadow Palette, the Zambeze Photogloss Lip Lacquer from the Man Ray collection, Hyères Precision Lip Liner, Red Square Velvet Matte Lip Pencil, Mash Nail Polish, and my personal fave – and from what I hear is François’s too – the Mambo Velvet Eyeliner.
Needless to say, I loved it all and they all walked out the store with me (after I paid of course!).
Because I did purchase some Man Ray products I received this super cute complimentary bag that is totally my style (I LOVE GOLD) and will definitely be put to good use!
Be sure to check out the NARS x Man Ray collection soon before it sells out!
