Iconic Lip Shades and Colours with M.A.C. Cosmetics
Whenever I think of creating iconic makeup looks, M.A.C. is at the top of the list! I’ve visited the M.A.C. Cosmetics store before to achieve this amazing mermaid look, but honestly really didn’t take the time to just learn about their lipstick offerings. They provide a variety of finishes and looks depending on the look you’re going for. For example, their LOVE ME LIQUID LIPCOLOUR is a hydrating argan oil- and shea butter-infused, rich and creamy liquid lip colour with a satin finish that wears for 12 hours. I found these to be incredibly smooth like butter and the colour to have so much depth! These lip colors would be great for wearing during the day at work, or in the evening for cocktails or an event!
If you’re looking for something a bit more subtle but still providing an impact, then the LUSTREGLASS SHEER-SHINE LIPSTICK is perfect for you. Tying into all the 90’s throwbacks happening in fashion and beauty, this lipstick has a glossy high-shine finish, sheer, buildable colour, and immediate and long-term moisture. Creating Your Signature Lipstick Shade with Lip Lab by BITE
If you’ve ever felt like the perfect shade of lipstick for you doesn’t exist, then look no further than Lip Lab! Not only can you customize your own signature lip color, but you can decide on the scent, finish and even name it! Lip Lab creates all of these colors in-house with the guidance of one of their specialists who help you decide on the perfect hues.
I decided to create two shades: one for everyday and one for those moments when I need to spice up my look really quick, and I am in LOVE with both of the lipsticks. The first one is what you would call a “My Lips But Better” lipstick color and let’s just say Lib Lab nailed it! It is an up-leveled nude with undertones of pink and brown. It has a sheer finish and I added mint so that anytime I applied it I felt refreshed. Because I can wear it all the time, I named it #momlife as a reminder that mom life can be fabulous too and even warrants wearing lipstick!
The second lipstick color I created is definitely a showstopper and not one I expected. I shared with the specialist that I wanted to create a lipstick shade that would be great for the summer season. We ultimately ended up with this magnetic red that had undertones of orange, magenta and white added. Right away, I felt like it elevated my makeup and it felt like my own signature red. This lipstick was made with a sheer finish and to add even more fabulousness to it, I added lime so that I felt vibrant as soon as I applied it. I walked away naming it “MJ’s Red” because I felt like it was made just for me – which it truly was!
