How goes it friends?  Yes, I know.  It’s been forever and a day since I touched based.  But I promise it has all been for good reason.  If you follow me on Instagram, then you would know that I am officially pregnant.  Still seems surreal to me but believe me I am so happy to have made it here in my journey of life.

So far, pregnancy has been good to me, minus my allergies and asthma.  I had some nasty morning sickness the first trimester and hated ALL meat.  Years ago I did the whole vegetarian and even vegan thing, so I was fine with figuring out foods for those first three months.  Now I’m reaching the tail end of my second trimester and this really is the “golden age” right now.  I have more energy, baby is kicking, and my appetite is (usually) in full force.  Some weeks I still get food aversions (chicken is so gross sometimes).  As far as cravings, they come and go, varying day to day.  One week I’ll really want In N Out burger, another week I’ll crave strawberry shortcakes with fresh strawberries and none of that red dye super sweet sauce.  One consistent thing is I LOVE cinnamon rolls, lol.  But nothing too sweet.  Baby loves savory.

Sidenote: if you want to hear more about my pregnancy, check out my YouTube video:

GRWM + Pregnancy & Life Update + Chit Chat

Hey friends! Sorry for being MIA since forever but I’m back with a GRWM + Pregnancy & Life Update + Chit Chat about what I’ve been up to the past few months. ALSO – watch out for a quick gender reveal in the video!!!

Another thing with pregnancy is of course body changes.  Starting this journey I was already a little over where I preferred, at 145 to 147 pounds, much of which was due to all the fertility drugs I’ve been taking for almost two years.  Today at 6 months I clock in at 157 pounds and its all in my boobs, arms, and stomach.  Did you know that 90% of pregnant women get stretch marks?  And while certainly they are a badge of honor that we should all display with love and proudness, I don’t mind having as few as possible.

Palmer’s Cocoa Butter was kind enough to send me a sponsored care package to help ease the stretch marks I have worked hard to gain and I was happy to try out all their awesome arsenal.  I grew up using Palmer’s and have heard so many swear by their products so it made complete sense for me to use them.

With all the crazy hormones surging thru my body + living in this Vegas desert, the Massage Lotion has been heaven sent and has helped improve my skin so much.  In particular, my legs for some strange reason began to look scaly.  As soon as I used the Massage Lotion, it would look lucisios and feel super, duper soft for hours on end.

I had my hubby put the Massage Cream to good use by rubbing it on my back as its getting wider to handle this bump.  The cream has that great cocoa butter smell and is super thick.  Needless to say, I was ready for a nap after he gave me a good ole rub down with this stuff.

The Tummy Butter is probably my favorite.  While I haven’t been using it as recommended (three times a day – I forget the pregnancy brain, lol), I do use it one to two times a day on areas I feel like will be most affected by stretch marks, i.e. my tummy and my breast.  This butter smells delicious.  And it seriously seems to be working: my chest and stomach are still stretch mark free – for now.  I plan on keeping it that way by continuing to use this amazing circle of awesomeness.

While having this Palmer’s arsenal in my back pocket has been a saving grace, I am still very self conscious about the changes that are happening to my body.  I know, I know, we were made to do this.  But I still can’t help but feel a bit frumpy + fluffy most times.  It was hard for me to take these pictures but I’m glad I did.  I mean, some nice lightening never hurt, right? LOL!

But in all seriousness, outside of my insecurities I am so thankful for this able body and the blessing that it carries.  I can’t wait to meet her.

Best,

MJ
